Agrocybe Praecox Group
Often called: Spring Agrocybe

Found in the Gorge 3/29/15 at bottom of a trail near the highway

Note, many features are the same as a previous specimen
that was identifed as being a Cortinarius
either C. subalpinusor, clandestinus, or cotoneus group

However, the shape of the spores in this speciment is definitely different.
The spores of this specimen have a germ pore
Sava points out that Cortinarius spores do not have a germ pore
and that Agrocybe Praecox Group do have a germ pore
I will show the comparison of the spore shapes below.

Note: Agaricus species have free gills,
Hebeloma have a sticky, slimy cap
Agrocybe acericola has a yello cap,
Agrocybe dura often have a cracked cap

-----scroll down for more pictures ----

Cap Olive-Brown at center and lighter Olive-Yellow at the edges
Gills are adnate
There is a definite ring

stipe is fibrous
thicker at base

Spore print rusty brown

Note the germ pore at the truncated end of the spores

The spores are definitely not Global as were the spores of the Cortininarious previously identified
