Scientific Name:Cardamine nuttallii (formerly Cardamine pulcherrima)

Slender toothwort is a member of the Mustard family.

The leaves on the upper stem are unlobed while the others are generally 3-5-foliate leaflets. The name Cardamine is from the Greek kardamon, which can be further split into the words kardia, meaning heart, and damao, meaning sedative, because these plants were used formerly as heart sedatives.

The flowers have pink or red petals. Like all flowers in the Brassicaceae family, they are radially symmetrical and have 4 sepals, 4 petals, 6 stamens and 1 superior 2-chambered ovary. The fruits are siliques containing numerous uniseriate seeds. (from: http://digitalcollections.pugetsound.edu/)
