Christmas bells are ringing; a new year will arrive soon!
This past year brought some sadness for us and many
challenges to our country, but yet there is hope and joy.
Sadness: We lost two dear members from our extended
family and two dear friends. They were special people and
will be very missed!
Challenges: Fires and floods have caused many people to
lose everything; other people have left everything they have
to find a better life, and then there is gun violence. Is a brutal
and savage killing of an individual worth cheap oil and jobs?
One can't help but wonder, will there ever be peace on earth?
Maybe the world needs a universal moral code to which all
religions can agree. One would hope that it would include
being good stewards of the earth and seeking the truth.
Such are the thoughts and mutterings of this couple as they
journey through the Winter of their lives.
At Christmas our focus is on the joyful news: We will have all the boys
home this Christmas!
We are thankful for our family and our friends.
