Sociobiology and
    Behavioral Ecology

(Study of variation in behavior
among different populations)

Does the atomization and social passiveness of our society
decrease our ability to work together for the common good
(everyone looking at their smartphones and not talking to each other)

Have you noticed that social organization have a hard time finding people for leadership positions in the organizations)

As a society are we less willing to cooperate for the common good

Maybe one apply the theories of
Sociobiology and Behavioral Ecology
to better understand what our country needs .

E. O. Wilson, a professor at Harvard,
has extensively studied the Sociobiology and Behavioral Ecology of
"ants working together"

Ants focus on the colony's need,
not their individual needs
By cooperating ants achieve great things

Ants in effect form a "super organism" of ants working together
and that "super organism" can do great things

Ants do not focus on their individual needs
Instead, ants primary focus is on the needs of the colony
and thus they form a "super organizim" capable of great achievements

Let's look at human behavior

Man is a social animal
Man has the ability to cooperate to achieve a common goal
Man can work for the "Common Good"
        over "Individual Good" --

Maybe we have to ask:
Does Ayn Rand's idea of "Individualism" conflict with
the goal of cooperative "Social Behavior"

-------------

Questions that are important to the future of our country:

1) Does the new tax bill, illustrate that we are seeing an increasing reluctance to cooperate

2) Is social behavior like the willingness to cooperate an inherited trait

3) Do some cultures (like the Chinese) have more of the
"cooperative social behavior" trait
than do people in our country
