Directions:
1)Take I5 North over the Columbia River
2) Stay on I5 to Exit 21 Woodlands
3) Head East on Hwy 503 to Cougar rest stop (28 miles)
4) Continue for 6.5 miles on Hwy 503 (note Hwy 503 becomes FR 90)
5) Turn left on FR 83 (signs to Ape Canyon, Climbers Bivouac, Lava Canyon)
6) Note at mile 3 marker, go straight ahead - stay on FR 83
7) Continue on FR 83 for 7 miles to Lahar viewpoint
8) Continue on FR83 to Ape Canyon Trailhead on the Left
