We went to three spectacular lookout points:
First: Owl Point - we had a beautiful view of Mt. Hood
Second: Alkai Point - looking north we could see Mt. Adams and Mt. Rainier
Third: the Rock Pile - we could again see Mt Hood
Unfortunately, there were a few bee stings
Joyce's hand became swollen and she had to have her ring cut off;
however, she is doing well now

Directions to the trailhead
Take Hwy 26 to ZigZag
Turn Left onto Lolo Pass Road
-- Lolo Pass Road is just prior to the ZigZag Ranger Station
-- Drive 10.5 miles on Lolo Pass Road
Turn right on gravel McGee Creek Road 1810
-- Drive about 10 miles on McGee Creek Road
-- after about 5 miles it becomes paved
Make a sharp right onto paved Road 16
-- At this intersection there is a sign saying Vista Ridge trail 626
-- drive 5.3 miles on Road 16
At a broad intersection turn sharply right onto spur road 1650
-- only a very short iinital part is paved
-- drive 3.4 miles on road 1650 to the trailhead
-- when in doubt stay left and head uphill
