At the trailhead, our leader Jeanine gathers the group and gives on instructions
At the trailhead we had a number of options. We choose Siouxon Trail 30
The trail was wonderful and our leader set the pace
The group did occasionally stop to chat
The trail followed Siouxon Creek
We first encountered Horseshoe Falls. At this point we crossed the creek on a nice bridge
Next we came to Siouxon Falls.
Note the S shape
There was a lovely pool at the base of the falls
We had lunch about one mile passed Siouxon Falls

Directions tot he Trailhead
1) Drive to Battleground
..... You can either
..... a) Go up I-5 o exit 9 and follow signs to Battleground
..... b) go up 205 to Hyway 503 (about one mile passed the Jackson Bridge)
2) Hwy 503 insects Hwy 502 in the center of Battleground
3) From Battleground follow Hwy 503 for 16.8 miles to the
..Helens National Volcanic Monument Headquarters (on left side of hwy 503)
4) Right passed the Headquarters, turn right on N.E> Healy Road
5) Follow Healy Road for 9.2 miles
6) Turn left on FR-57 and proceed for 1.3 miles
7) turn left on FR-5701 (road name painted on road)
8) Follow Fr-5701 for 3.7 miles to the trailhead.
9) Note the roads are all paved, but there are pot holes.
