Candy Flower

Also called: Serbian Miner's Lettuce

Scientific Name: Claytonia siberica (synonym is Montia sibirica)

Seen on Hike to Hart's Cove on the coast 8/13/13

Note this is:
Serbian Miner's Lettuce

There is a different flower that is called
Miner's Lettuce

The diference can be determined by examining where the flower stem is relative to the leaves.

In Serbian Miner's Lettuce, the stem protrudes between two leaves.
In Miner's lettuce, two leaves are fused together so that it appears that the stem protrudes from the center of a large leave.

However, it is noted that both plants are edible and said to be delicious.
