Lupine or Lupin (specific species ????)

Scientific Name: Lupinus

Seen on Hike to McNeil Point 8/8/13

The Lupinus genus includes over 200 species. Hence identifying the exact species is difficult.

Any information about the species would be appreciated

We were high enough up on the mountain that the Lupine were blooming in great Profusion

The seeds of lupins, commonly called lupin beans, were popular with the Romans, who cultivated the plants throughout the Roman Empire.
