Our first Chanterelle of the Season

Bunker Hill - North of Carson,WA

The gills (i.e. folds) seem strange to me
Near the edge of the cap they are straight and look almost like gills
Near the stipe they are shallow and wiggly
Scroll down and in some pictures you can see that the edges of the folds are flat

My Question: Is it commmon for gills of Chanterelle to look like this
or is there something wrong with this chanterelle


 

Cap is Yellow

But note the flat edges on
the folds
They are folds, not gills
