Pig's Ears (other common names clustered chanterelle and violet chanterelle)
Scientific Name: Gomphus clavatus

Found on Field Trip with Taylan 9/14/13













Pig's Ear are edible and some people find them delicious

They have two (or more) irregularly shaped caps that arise from a common stem.

The underside of the ears is wrinkled and purplish.

Pig's ears are typically found in coniferous forests
