The mushroom we saw today 9/23/15 was a
Turbinellus floccosus
(in the past was called Gomphus floccosus)
Sometimes called wolly chanterelle
Difference from a Chanterelle
Stem is hollow
Appearance of cap
Editability questionable:
Known to cause nausea, vomiting and diarrheain some people.
However, there are reports that it is sold and eaten in Mexico
Note, the cap
is not smooth
it is wooly
