Wolly chanterelle
Also called: shaggy chanterelle or scaly chanterelle
Scientific Name: Turbinellus floccosus (was called Gomphus floccosus)
Found 9/14/13 off of Wind River Highway
Can be mistaken for a chanterelle
However, note the scaly cap and hallow core stipe
Most pictures on the web show a trumpet shaped cap
This specimen is only slightly trumpet shaped
NOT EDIBLE: Known to cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. However, there are reports that it is sold and eaten in Mexico
