Growing in duff (maybe woodchips)
My comment: These look different from the common Agrocybe praecox
Possibility: Psilocybe apelliculosa or Psilocybe subviscida

Sava Says: Psylocybe have darker spores (purplish-brown) and slender stems.
This looks like Agrocybe to me.
Since the veil seems to be consistently absent,
Agrocybe putaminum would be a serious possibiity

Mikes says: It will be interesting to see if,
in a few days, these develop the cracks on the cap that are common in Agrocybe.

does not snap like chalk

One can peel off a layer of skin from the cap

Spore print is dark brown (maybe rust colored)



Spores are oblong or disk shaped , some have a depression in the center
spore size:
7 to 7.5 microns by 10 to 11 microns



Note the depression that can be seen is some of the spores

Did not crack as it got older and dried.
