1) Take Hwy 84 to Cascade Locks
2) Cross Bridge of the Gods
3) Turn right on Hwy 14 and drive through Stevenson
4) After mile post 46 turn left toward Carson and Wind River
5) Drive about 8 miles and then turn left on Hemlock Road
note sign to Wind River Work Center
6)Take second right on SZYDLO Road (FR 43)
7) After Mile Post 3 go left at Y onto FR 54
8) Turn right at next Y (staying on the paved road)
9) At a three way intersection stay right for the trailhead
Trailhead is about 13 miles after leaving Hyw 14 --
almost all the road is paved except for about 100 feet --
