White River Canyon
on Mt Hood

The hike booklet described the hike as:
White River Canyon Mt. Hood 4 miles, 900 ft,
The hike goes up a mssive glacial canyon with
spectacular views of Mt. Hood.
The start is along an old quarry road that leads to the "Big Hill in the Sky".
Then we hike up a gentle grade through alpine trees and
wildflowers with views of Mt. Hood.

After the Ape Canyon hike,
Joan and I did a short hike
in the Barlow Recreation Area near Sandy

Our leader Becky assembles the group
Everyone prepared for rain
but it did not rain

We followed the
White River up the mountain
At this time of year
the White River is a small stream

Mt. Hood was partially
covered with clouds
But it was still visable
