Seven and a half mile Hike
Along Crown Zellerback Trail

Start at trailhead 10 miles West of Scappoose

Alan, our able leader, assembles the group of 35 eager hikes at the trailhead.

Our leader had the group take a break at a point where a side trail leads down to an old tunnel opening.







The group stopped for lunch at a delightful spot on the trail.





After lunch, the group re-assembles to start back to the trailhead.

Directions to the trailhead

  1. Drive North on I-5 to I-405
  2. Go left on I-405 (follows signs to Beaverton)
  3. Stay on I_405 to Hwy 30 toward St. Helens
  4. Stay on Hwy 30 through the town of Scappoose
  5. After passing through Scappose go to traffic light and sign Scappoose-Vernonia Highway
  6. (the sign is at the first light after passing Scappose)
  7. Turn left on Scappoose-Vernonia Hwy
  8. Drive 11 miles to a bridge
  9. Turn left after the bridge and park on the side road
