Eight mile hike to Palmateer Point and Twin Lakes
8/15/13

These are the trails we followed

Our leader assembles the troops

..
..

On Thursday, our group included two younsters who gave inspiration to some of us older folks.

It was fun having them with us.

At a trail junction, our leader gives directions

We did take some breaks

Our leader out in front getting to the view point

The group had lunch at Palmateer Point

The views were wonderful

Going down is always easier

After Palmateer Point, we visited Twin Lakes

It was a fun day in a beautiful area

There weren't too many flowers, but there were some

There were berries to eat along the trail

At lower elevations there was lots of Pearly Everlasting.

At upper elevations there was Yarrow rather than Pearly Everlasting

There was lots of one sided Pyrola

There were a few small Pine Drops

Pipsissewa berries

An unknown (to me) succulent
Near the top of Palmateer point
