Six Mile Hike Sunday July 21
Follow Multonoma Falls Creek up
Cross Over and
Decent along Wahkeena Falls Creek

C

Two happy hikers at the beginning of the hike

The hike begins

Going up was hard !!

However, the views were wonderful

The trail was well maintained

There were numerous falls along the way

The Old Growth Trees were Magnificent

When we started uphill it was overcast and a chilly 60 degrees

But when we were at the top of the climb, the sun came out and the temperature was a comfortable 70 degrees

Almost along the entire trail we could hear cascading water

We did have to cross some narrow bridges

Going down was easier than going up

Most of the bridges were quite nice

Happiness -- near the last waterfall near the end of the trail

We saw a few flowers, but there were less than earlier in the Spring.

Columbine

The flowers of various species of columbine were consumed in moderation by Native Americans.

The plant's seeds and roots are highly poisonous. They contain cardiogenic toxins which cause both severe gastroenteritis and heart palpitations.

Indian Pipers
